Local government voices are missing from GovCamp Cymru 2025

GovCamp Cymru 2025 is getting closer - and it’s already shaping up to be our biggest yet.

Last year, over 150 people joined us in Cardiff to reimagine public services in Wales. This year, demand is even higher: our first 80 early bird tickets sold out in just over three hours.

But there’s a problem.

So far, less than 10% of registered attendees are from local government. That’s a huge gap. Councils are on the frontline of service delivery in Wales, and their voices need to be part of the conversation.

GovCamp Cymru isn’t a traditional conference. There are no panels or presentations. It’s an unconference - a space where anyone can pitch a session, and everyone helps shape the day.

It’s where people talk honestly about the things that don’t always get airtime - from clunky systems and processes and tight budgets, to what actually helps teams deliver better outcomes.

This year we have commitment from several senior leaders to attend:

  • Glyn Jones, Chief Digital Officer for Welsh Government

  • The CEO of the Centre for Digital Public Services

  • Several senior leaders from local authority and across the wider Welsh public sector

We want more local government leaders and practitioners in that mix too.
