GovCamp Cymru 2026: what you need to know

There’s just one week to go until GovCamp Cymru 2026 on Friday 6 November.

Here are some things you need to know before the event.

A big thank you to our sponsors and organising partners

GovCamp Cymru couldn’t happen without the support of our sponsors and organising partners.

Our sponsors’ financial support helps us keep the event free to attend. Our organising partners contribute their time, skills and expertise to help plan and deliver the day.

Meet our sponsors and organising partners.

What to expect on the day

Doors will open for:

  • Sponsors and campmakers: 8:00am

  • Attendee registration: 8:45am to 9:45am

There’ll be a free breakfast for those who arrive early (available until it runs out!).

For full details on timings, travel and what to bring, read the attendee guide — what to expect on the day.

If you can’t make it…

If your plans change and you can no longer join us, please cancel your ticket through Eventbrite so someone else can take your place.

No photo ID, no entry

You will need to bring a valid photo ID to get into the building.

Photo ID can be:

  • a passport

  • a driving licence

You will also need to:

  • follow instructions from campmakers and security staff

  • wear the white lanyard you’re given at all times while in the building

  • stay within the event area.

If you need to leave the building, ask a campmaker or any attendee wearing a green or black lanyard to escort you down to reception.

If you have any questions about photo ID or accessing the building, please contact our team at hello@govcamp.cymru.

Help shape the unconference agenda

GovCamp Cymru has no pre-booked talks. If you have an idea, question or challenge, pitch it!

You don’t need to be an expert or have a presentation prepared. We’ll have pitching cards, examples and people to help on the day.

Read our top tips for pitching a session

Photography inside the venue

Please don’t take photographs inside the building. For security reasons, only our official photographer can take photos.

Our fab photographer Josh will be around all day. If you’d like a photo, just ask him or grab a campmaker in a green T-shirt.

At the registration desk, choose a badge to show your photography preference:

  • Red badge: I’m happy to appear in photos.

  • Blue badge: I don’t consent to appearing in photos.

Before photos are shared, Josh will crop out anyone wearing a blue badge

We’ll share a link to the photos as soon as possible after the event.

Accessibility and inclusion

We want GovCamp Cymru to be welcoming for everyone. We’ll have the Nurocove quiet space, and communication preference stickers at this year’s event.

If you’d like to join a call with our team to ask questions before the event, get in touch at hello@govcamp.cymru.

Campmakers in green T-shirts

A big thank you to all our campmakers for helping the day run smoothly. Look out for them in their green T-shirts if you have a question.

Meet the campmakers

Food, drink and the evening meetup

Lunch, tea and coffee are included during the day.

After GovCamp Cymru, join us at The Golden Cross from 4:30pm. It’s close to Cardiff Central station:

The Golden Cross
283 Hayes Bridge Road
Cardiff
CF10 1GH

There’ll be at least one free drink for every attendee.

Share your experience

We’re on LinkedIn, Bluesky and the Cymru Ddigidol Slack. Share your journey and join the conversation using #GovCampCymru2026.

Please remember not to take photographs inside the venue - we promise to share a link to the official photos as soon as we can!

See you on 6 November!
